Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Neuro unit. This full-time, day-shift position uses the nursing process under RN supervision to provide patient care and coordinate with other departments.

A $2,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible caregivers. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, Missouri LPN licensure, and BLS. LPN-IV certification is preferred and can be obtained within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must hold and maintain a Missouri LPN license (State Board requirements)
• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
• LPN-IV Certification completed prior to hire or within 3 months

Responsibilities

• Totals care across the Neuro unit at Mercy Hospital South

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Schedule: Full-Time | 40 hours/week

Shift: Days

Sign-On Bonus: Up to $2,000 for part-time and full-time caregivers

Qualifications

• Education:High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Licensure:Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• Must hold and maintain a current LPN license in Missouri and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
• Comparable education experience and successful licensure may be considered
• Experience:New graduates and experienced LPNs welcome
• Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)
• LPN-IV Certification completed prior to hire or within 3 months (up to 1 year based on unit requirements)

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
• Significant bending, stooping, and patient lifting/turning with assistance
• Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs.
