Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Orthopedics unit. This PRN role at 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, MO 63128 supports day shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm and offers a sign-on bonus up to $2,000 for part-time and full-time caregivers.

Required education includes a high school diploma or GED, Missouri LPN licensure, BLS certification, and LPN-IV certification (or completion within specified timelines). New grads welcome.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must hold and maintain a current LPN license in Missouri.
• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain professional accountability.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments, while upholding patient rights and confidentiality.

Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Position Details

Schedule: PRN

Shift: Days Shift 7:00am - 7:00pm

Sign-On Bonus: Up to $2,000 for part-time and full-time caregivers

Education

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• Must hold and maintain a current LPN license in Missouri and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements
• Comparable education experience and successful licensure may be considered

Experience

• New graduates and experienced LPNs welcome

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)
• LPN-IV Certification completed prior to hire or within 3 months (up to 1 year based on unit requirements)

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
• Significant bending, stooping, and patient lifting/turning with assistance
• Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
