Job summary

Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Orthopedic Unit. You will work with RNs, physicians and therapists to deliver exceptional care to patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries and related conditions.

The ideal candidate is patient-focused and thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. The LPN will provide direct care in acute settings under a RN, with opportunities for growth and certification support.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current LPN license in New Mexico or out-of-state compact/multistate license.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with orthopedics or acute care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision within LPN scope.
• Assist with implementation and evaluation of individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes promptly.
• Assist with activities of daily living and rehabilitation goals.
• Support post-operative orthopedic patients with education and comfort measures.
• Document care activities in the EHR.
• Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and providers.
• Maintain safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards.
