Job summary

Carle Health’s NT4 Orthopaedic-Urology Surgical Unit is seeking an LPN with at least 1 year of experience to join a 41-bed, high-paced unit. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered for external applicants. The team collaborates with PT/OT to deliver rapid, high-quality care in a level trauma center setting.

The role includes med administration, IV management, charting, dressing changes, NG tube and ostomy care, and discharge instructions. BLS required within 30 days, LPN license in good standing.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Illinois IDFPR registration is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
• College Diploma or equivalent in Nursing (LPN).

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and hangs IV piggybacks and fluids.
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after RN initial assessment.
• Chart care plans and coordinate with RN for new plans.
• Communicates with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Perform dressing changes, NG tube care, ostomy care and discharge instructions.
