Job summary

Kingman Regional Medical Center in Kingman, AZ seeks a dedicated LPN or Medical Assistant to join the Primary Care team. The role supports physicians, assists with clinical procedures, and performs basic lab tests in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

  • Licensure as an LPN in Arizona or a compact state.
  • MA candidates must have a high school diploma and BLS certification.
  • BLS certification required for both roles.

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients by phone or in person and implement physician orders.
  • Assist providers and staff in coordinating patient care for clinic and procedures.
  • Perform CLIA waived lab tests and obtain specimens; run controls.
  • May perform venipuncture.
  • Escort patient to exam room and prepare for exam with vitals and history (MA).
  • Cross-train in data entry, balancing of accounts, charge fees and collect payments; schedule appointments.
  • Under supervision of a Physician/PA/NP, provide patient care in the office setting.

Position Purpose

Licensed Practical Nurses(LPN) andMedical Assistants (MA) assist in providing excellent patient care by assisting physicians/physician assistants/nurse practitioners in medical office settings. Performs a variety of patient care duties within the construct of a multidisciplinary patient care team as delegated by the physician.

Hours/Shift

Full Time/Days - work schedule is either Mon-Fri or Tues-Fri

Key Responsibilities
  • LPN
    • Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.
    • Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in a dynamic environment.
    • Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures.
    • Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens, performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
    • May perform venipuncture.
  • MA
    • Responsible for patient care under the direct supervision (in the office suite or exam room) of a Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner.
    • Escorts patient to the exam room and prepares patient for the exam including vital stats, history, and reason for seeking care.
    • Cross trains in data entry, balancing of accounts, charge fees and collect payments dueSchedules/confirms appointments.
    • Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens, performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
    • May perform venipuncture.
Qualifications
  • LPN Candidates
    • Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program
    • High school or Equivalent
    • Current, valid Arizona LPN license or compact state LPN/LVN license
    • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
  • MA Candidates
    • High School or Equivalent
    • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
    • DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
    • Must meetoneof the following criteria:
    1. Has attended a medical assistant training program accredited by one of the following:
      • The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools;
    2. If your Medical Assistant program was not accredited by one of the above agencies, you will need to have a Medical Assistant Certification issued by one of the following. If you meet eligibility to take the exam, we will assist you in obtaining a CCMA certification.
      • National Healthcareer Association: CCMA
      • American Medical Technologist: RMA
      • American Association of Medical Assistants: AAMA
      • National Center for Competency Testing: NCMA
      • American Medical Certification Association: CMAC
    3. Has completed a medical services training program of the Armed Forces of the United States
Work Requirements

Must be able to distinguish appropriate colors, communicate using telephone, and able to consistently reach and/or work above and below shoulder level lifting up to 50 pounds. Capable of walking or being on feet 90% of time per day with frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, standing and sitting at desk 10% of the time per day. Expected duties have routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues and to chemicals, biological, and radioactive substances.
