Job summary

Essentia Health seeks a capable LPN/CMA to support the Clinic Float Pool across Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics in Baxter, MN. You will provide direct ambulatory patient care, assist with examinations, administer meds, and coordinate follow-up care with clinicians.

This 0.8 FTE role features a day schedule, no weekends, and benefits including medical coverage, retirement plans, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the relevant state.
• Current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, with certification required within one year of hire (must pass certification within two attempts).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in ambulatory settings to meet Essentia Health goals.
• Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Coordinate care with physicians and other staff to implement care plans.
• Conduct initial patient intake and prepare patients for examinations or testing.

Job Description:

Education Qualifications:

This LPN/CMA will support our Clinic Float Pool (RNs, Physicians, and other providers). You will work within our Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics Teams. You will provide direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Patient Care and Monitoring: Perform routine assessments such as measuring vital signs, recording patient histories, and observing symptoms to assist in diagnosing and monitoring patient health.

• Assisting with Procedures: Support physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures by preparing equipment, assisting with patient positioning, and ensuring proper infection control.

• Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications, including injections and oral drugs, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects, ensuring accurate documentation.

• Coordination of Care: Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, and assist in coordinating follow-up appointments and referrals.

• Patient Intake and Preparation: Conduct initial patient intake processes, including gathering medical histories, updating personal information, and preparing patients for examination or diagnostic testing.

This position is eligible for a $2500 hiring incentive!

Work Hours for the Position:

• 32 hours/week (could flex up to 40 hours/week)

• No Weekends

• 8 Hour Shifts

• Day Shift: 7:30AM - 5:00PM

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
