Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the 02250 GCMG Sexual Health - Obstetrics/Gynecology department in Charlotte, NC. This full-time position offers a sign-on bonus eligibility and a pay range of $24.10–$36.15 per hour.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, with 40 hours weekly. A practical nursing program and BLS are required; no prior experience is necessary. Comprehensive benefits and total rewards are provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organization, prioritization and problem solving skills.
• Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigating Windows OS, and using email; exposure to EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting health information.
• Performs laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and infection control guidelines.
• Assists physician with procedures and surgeries such as pelvic exams, colposcopy, and related tasks.
• Administers medications under physician orders, initiates IV therapy where appropriate, and manages related duties.
• Provides patient education and follows up on test requests, refills, appointments, and referrals.
• Communicates patient status with physicians and the health care team; documents accurate information.
• Performs advanced clinical tasks under supervision (e.g., sutures, catheterization, EKG, spirometry, etc.).
• Maintains and prepares exam rooms, labs and equipment; handles stocking and cleaning.
• Participates in patient-centered initiatives and quality improvement activities.
• Delivers age-appropriate care across life spans per department policies.
