Job summary

Quality Correctional Health Care is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for PRN Day Shift at Smith County. Under supervision of the Site Administrator, you will provide nursing services in a correctional setting and administer medications per physician orders and nursing standards.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited vocational/technical school, current LPN/LVN license, CPR, and at least one year of clinical health care experience; correctional health care experience is

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an Accredited Vocational/Technical School.
• Current and valid LPN or LVN license.
• Current CPR.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a health care setting as an LPN.
• One year of experience in a correctional health care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond and intervene to all emergency situations.
• Conduct patient intake paperwork.
• Verify and obtain orders for patient medications.
• Administer medications following nursing standards.
• Document ordered treatments, patient care and lab results.
• Assist provider with Chronic Care Clinic and sick calls.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Assist with training and orientation of new personnel.
• Follow QCHC policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
