Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Wisconsin (Greenfield) is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, review test results, and assist in medical issues under Center Manager and Center Physician guidance.

The role requires an LPN/LVN license, CPR/AED, and at least two years in a clinical setting, with FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Sign-on bonus available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and medical emergencies per SOPs; support center physician standing orders and donor transport.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health/ER evaluation; follow EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations related to pandemic threats.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent nursing program

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

CPR and AED certification

Fulfill state IV therapy requirements

FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
