Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a licensed practical nurse for the 3 North West Neuro/Ortho unit. The role supports telemetry and med-surg patients, with emphasis on pre- and post-operative care for stroke and joint replacement patients.

The unit is part of a Magnet-recognized hospital system with private patient rooms and a generous benefits package for full- and part-time staff.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or current multi-state licensure through eNLC.
• 1 year in healthcare preferred.
• PALS or ACLS preferred.
• State approved IV course certification preferred.
• Knowledge of EPIC documentation and assessment process.

Responsibilities

• Performs general nursing care within the LPN scope of practice.
• Assists with preparation of equipment and supports the clinical provider during treatment, examination, and testing.
• Collects assessment data and documents clinical information in the patient record; reports changes to RN/APP/physician.
• Orders diagnostic tests as directed and reviews results prior to clinician assessment.
• Schedules procedures and obtains necessary authorizations; assists with basic medical tasks and specimen collection.
