Job summary

Livingston Regional Hospital, part of the ScionHealth network, is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Medical/Surgical unit. Under RN supervision, you will monitor patients, administer medications, assist with ADLs, and support wound care in a fast-paced setting.

You will ensure safety, document care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the care team to meet each patient’s needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program is required.
• Current state LPN/LVN licensure is required.
• BLS certification as per facility policy.
• Minimum 6 months' experience in a medical/surgical setting preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision.

Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Medical/Surgical provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role includes monitoring vital signs, administering medications, performing wound care, and assisting with activities of daily living. The LPN ensures patient safety, adherence to care plans, and optimal outcomes in accordance with established nursing standards and hospital policies.

Essential Functions

• Provides direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with ADLs
• Administers medications as prescribed within scope of practice
• Documents patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately and timely
• Assists with specimen collection, wound care, and other clinical procedures as directed
• Collaborates with the RN in developing, updating, and implementing patient care plans
• Monitors and reports changes in patient condition to the RN or physician
• Provides patient and family education regarding care plans and discharge instructions
• Maintains a safe and clean patient environment in accordance with infection control protocols
• Participates in staff training, competency assessments, and quality improvement initiatives
• Responds to emergencies and assists in patient stabilization as directed

Qualifications

Education
