Job summary

Livingston Regional Hospital, a 114-bed community hospital, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse in Medical/Surgical to provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision. You will monitor vitals, administer medications, perform wound care, and assist with activities of daily living while upholding nursing standards and hospital policies.

As part of ScionHealth, the hospital serves a five-county area with 24-hour emergency services and inpatient/outpatient care, including a Level I

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program.
• Current state LPN/LVN licensure required.
• BLS Certification as required per facility policy.
• De-escalation Training as required per facility policy.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including monitoring vital signs and assisting with ADLs
• Administers medications as prescribed within scope of practice
• Documents patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately and timely
• Assists with specimen collection, wound care, and other clinical procedures as directed
• Collaborates with the RN in developing, updating, and implementing patient care plans
• Monitors and reports changes in patient condition to the RN or physician
• Provides patient and family education regarding care plans and discharge instructions
• Maintains a safe and clean patient environment in accordance with infection control protocols
• Participates in staff training, competency assessments, and quality improvement initiatives
• Responds to emergencies and assists in patient stabilization as directed

Job Summary

• The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Medical/Surgical provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role includes monitoring vital signs, administering medications, performing wound care, and assisting with activities of daily living. The LPN ensures patient safety, adherence to care plans, and optimal outcomes in accordance with established nursing standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program required

License/Certifications

Experience

• Minimum of six (6) months of experience in a medical/surgical setting preferred
