Cleveland Clinic's Digestive Disease Institute is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Endoscopy department at Crile and Q Building on Main Campus. You will work days with on-call coverage from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, plus one late night weekly and weekend/on-call rotations.

The role involves collecting patient data, implementing care plans, and educating patients and families in a high-volume GI setting.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
  • Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, document and report patient data and observations.
  • Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
  • Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests.
  • Educate patients and family members.

The Digestive Disease Institute specializes in medical and surgical treatments for disorders related to the gastrointestinal tract. The Endoscopy department offers upper gastrointestinal endoscopy for esophageal, stomach and duodenal disorders, wireless capsule endoscopy and balloon-assisted enteroscopy for intestinal disorders, colonoscopy for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for colonic disease, and ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound for pancreatic and biliary disorders. This is a highly experienced team of caregivers that collaborate on various endoscopy procedures to achieve excellent medical outcomes for patients.

A caregiver in this position works days and on-call from 7:00am to 5:30pm. One late night per week will be held past 5:30 pm. On-call on Friday will be start at 6:00pm, Friday through the weekend and then on Monday from 6:00am 6-7 times per year. Saturdays will be from 7:00am to 1:00pm once every 6 weeks and then on-call on Friday from 6:00pm through the weekend and on to Monday at 6:00am roughly 6-7 times per year. This role will be held at Crile and Q Building at Main Campus.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
  • Collect, document and report patient data and observations.
  • Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
  • Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests.
  • Educate patients and family members.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program
  • Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • One year of patient care experience
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.
  • Involves extensive standing and walking.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range:

Minimum hourly: $23.25

Maximum hourly: $33.50
