Job summary

Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus seeks an experienced RN in Urology and Kidney Medicine to provide dynamic patient care during day shifts. Enjoy a schedule with no on-call, weekends, or holidays while joining a world-class team dedicated to excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (ADN or BSN).
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through AHA or Red Cross.
  • ACLS Certification within six months of employment.
  • CRNI or VA-BC certification preferred within three years of hire (if PICC lines are used).
  • One year of RN experience or 2 years of LPN experience in the same department may substitute for RN experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services.
  • Assess patients, perform nursing assessments, document findings, and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
  • Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by a physician.
  • Establish and adjust care plans with patients, families and the health care team.
  • Coordinate discharge planning and ongoing care needs.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. No weekends, nights, holidays, or call requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
  • Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services in a variety of healthcare settings.
  • Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
  • Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
  • Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
  • Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
  • Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
  • Assist with specialized patient care equipment as required by the clinical department and medical specialty assigned.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by a physician or LIP.
  • Educate patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles in the department.
  • Maintain core competencies in nursing including CPR and skills labs.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within the first six months of employment
  • In areas operating with Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC Lines), Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) or Vascular Access Board Certified (VA-BC) certification is preferred within three years of hire.
  • One year of recent experience as an RN OR Licensed RN with at least 2 years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department may substitute for required RN experience.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Two years of recent experience as an RN
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
