Job summary

Williamson Health in Spring Hill, TN is seeking an LPN/Medical Assistant for full-time day shifts to support our outpatient teams. You will provide essential clinical nursing support, coordinate tests and visits, and assist physicians in a busy environment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, Medical Assistant certification preferred, and at least one year of medical office experience; proficiency with glucometers, BP cuffs, and EMR is desired.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in a medical office setting.
  • Must be proficient with glucometer, BP cuff, thermometer, and basic clinical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical nursing support and communicate clinical information to patients.
  • Schedule tests and consultations and obtain clinical specimens.
  • Assist physicians with med/surg procedures and immunizations as appropriate.
  • Triages patient calls and coordinate outpatient care with local providers.
  • Train new staff and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Job Description

Position Summary:

This position provides clinical nursing support to Williamson Medical Group by communicating clinical information to patients and businesses, scheduling tests and consultations, obtaining clinical specimens, assessing patients, performing clinical office procedures and maintaining adequate clinical supplies.

Position Requirements:
Formal Education / Training:
High school diploma or equivalent. Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Workplace Experience:
At least one year of experience in medical office environment.

Equipment and Skills Training:
Must be competent in the use Glucometer, BP cuff, thermometer, computer, autoclave, stethoscope, audioscope, business phone and various oral and injectible medications.

Physical Effort:
Must be able to sit, stand, communicate, in English, both orally and in writing and lift over 20 pounds.

  • Accurately records patient’s medical history and vital signs.
  • Gives patients immunizations and injections as appropriate.
  • Counsel patients on health related issues.
  • Orders and maintains medications
  • Coordinates outpatient care with local businesses.
  • Secures consultations and specialists.
  • Triages phone calls.
  • Prepares special drug and care request.
  • Trains new employees within WMG
  • Assists physician with med/surg procedures
  • Observes universal precautions
  • Monitors sample drug closet
  • Observes proper lifting techniques to prevent injury
