Job summary

Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital in Mooresville, North Carolina seeks an LPN to provide direct nursing care under RN supervision. You will document care, assist with procedures, and participate in care planning in a Magnet-designated system.

Ideal candidates hold NC LPN licensure, BLS, and enjoy collaborating with physicians, patients, and families in a fast-paced hospital setting. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Work requires graduation from an approved or accredited Practical Nurse program.
• No experience required.
• Current North Carolina LPN licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). BLS required.
• Knowledge of scope of licensed practical nurse; ability to delegate to nursing support staff.
• Able to communicate clearly with patients, families, visitors, healthcare team, physicians and leadership.
• Able to use computer and learn new software programs.
• Able to withstand prolonged standing and walking.

Responsibilities

• Provide and document direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
• Assist physicians and other nursing personnel in diagnostic procedures.
• Evaluate nursing care and priorities.
• Participate in maintaining environment of care and equipment.
• Assist in training of new employees.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
