Job summary

Flowers Hospital in Alabama seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Medical Surgical Floor (4 South). The role is a 13 Week Internal Contract working 3x12hr shifts per week from 7 AM to 7 PM, with a 29-bed department and a diverse patient population.

The LPN will perform nursing care under RN supervision, administer medications, assess patients, and contribute to care plans. Alabama state licensure and BCLS are required; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of experience as an LPN in a healthcare setting required
• Alabama state licensure as LPN or LVN
• BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under RN supervision, including monitoring vital signs and activities of daily living.
• Conducts focused patient assessments and reports changes to the team.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans.
• Maintains documentation of patient care and observations in the medical record.
• Educates patients and families on health maintenance and post-discharge care.
• Ensures infection control and safety protocol adherence for quality patient care.
• Assists with basic procedures within scope of practice.
