Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the day shift at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham.

You will provide patient care under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, administering medications and monitoring for reactions, and performing lab tests as needed. The role requires graduation from an accredited practical nursing program and active LPN licensure in Alabama, with BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Alabama.
• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, within scope of license.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
• Educate patients and families about disease treatment plans and post-discharge care.
