Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL seeks an licensed practical nurse to provide patient care during night shifts (7 p.m.–7 a.m.) under general supervision. You will follow the nursing process, uphold UAB Hospital standards, and advocate for patients and families.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited LPN program, an active LPN license in Alabama, BLS; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on unit. Sign-on bonus up to $5,000 for full-time hires is available.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Practical Nursing Program; education cannot be substituted by experience.
• Current Alabama LPN license or endorsement required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients following the nursing process and hospital policies.
• Orient patients and families, act as a patient advocate.
• Collect assessment data and report to the RN, document care delivery.
• Respond to emergencies and communicate patient education needs.
