Job summary

MEDIKO in Seattle, WA is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to deliver direct patient care in a correctional setting. You will administer medications, monitor patient conditions, assist with treatments, and document care while adhering to facility policies and state regulations.

You will collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care, educate patients, and contribute to a safe and efficient healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Current, valid state licensure or credentials to practice (e.g., CMA, LPN, RN).
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Nursing, or related field preferred but not required.
• 1–3 years of healthcare experience, preferably in a correctional setting.
• CPR/BLS certification required (American Heart Association/Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, monitoring vital signs, and administering prescribed treatments and medications.
• Conduct initial medical screenings upon entry into the facility and provide ongoing care.
• Assist with sick call assessments and patient health concerns.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid.
• Monitor and document patient progress and update physician as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records per policies and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and proper medication handling.
• Collaborate with physicians, healthcare providers, and correctional staff.
• Educate patients and staff on health topics and disease prevention.
• Maintain stocked, organized medical unit and report equipment issues.
