Job summary

MEDIKO is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide direct patient care in a correctional setting. The role includes administering medications, monitoring patients, and documenting care while complying with policies and regulations.

This full-time position offers 4 days per week or 3 days per week 6AM-6PM with some weekend days. You will collaborate with healthcare teams and participate in patient education and safety initiatives across the facility.

Qualifications

• A current, valid state licensure/certificate to practice (LPN/LVN or equivalent).
• High School diploma or GED required.
• AA/AS or BS in Healthcare/Nursing preferred but not required.
• 1–3 years of healthcare experience, preferably in a correctional setting.
• CPR/BLS certification required (AHA/Red Cross guidelines).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, monitor vital signs, and administer prescribed treatments and medications.
• Perform initial screenings and ongoing care during the patient’s stay.
• Assist with sick calls, respond to health concerns, and refer when needed.
• Respond to emergencies and provide first aid and emergency care as required.
• Document patient progress and coordinate with physicians and staff.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Administer medications and handle/storage per protocol.
• Collaborate with medical teams and correctional staff to ensure quality care.
