Job summary

Journey in Willoughby, OH is seeking an experienced RN leader to oversee nursing staff and ensure high-quality resident care in a long-term care setting.

You will guide LPNs/LVNs and CNAs, uphold regulatory standards, and participate in admissions and transfers while promoting a patient-centered approach and team collaboration. This role requires licensure, CPR and a commitment to best practices.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
• A Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily nursing activities per regulations and facility policies.
• Follow the nursing model to promote holistic resident care.
• Ensure policies and procedures are followed by nursing staff.
• Participate in admissions, discharges and transfers as required.
• Assess resident status changes; notify physician and family; document accordingly.
• Transcribe physician orders and carry out orders as written.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of the licensed practical/vocational nurse and certified nursing assistants in accordance with current federal, state and local regulations and guidelines and established facility policies and procedures.
• Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for the residents.
• Ensures that policies and procedures are complied with by nursing personnel assigned.
• Participates in the admission, discharge and transfers of residents as required.
• Assesses for changes in residents’ status, notifying the physician and resident’s family or representative and documenting accordingly.
• Transcribes physician orders to medical record and carries out orders as written.
