Job summary

Armor Health in Canton, Ohio is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a day shift (3x12s) from 6a–6p with every other weekend. This role supports correctional healthcare teams and delivers holistic nursing care.

You will work with providers and RNs, perform exams, tests, and routine procedures, manage patient histories and vital signs, and document care in the EMR. The position offers competitive pay, strong benefits, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in the state.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Proficient with electronic medical records.
• Able to pass Level 2 background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist providers and RNs with exams, treatments, tests, and procedures.
• Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, vital signs, and administers TB skin tests.
• Conduct lab tests and ensures the results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
• Ensure patient is receiving proper care for injury or condition.
• Review patient chart; records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient's conditions.
• Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or outside health care providers; administer medications; implement healthcare practitioners' orders; and document all patient contacts using the POMR format.
