Ocean Meadow Senior Living is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a part-time evening shift (3pm-9pm) in Clinton, CT. The role involves patient care for residents living with memory challenges, medication administration, and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.

The ideal candidate holds a state LPN license, CPR certification, 1–2 years of nursing experience, and preferably experience with elderly populations. In-person work with comprehensive benefits and PTO is offered.

Qualifications

• Previous elderly care experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications according to Federal & State regulations.
• Assist with admissions and assessments of new residents.

• Track clinical data (wounds, infection control) under direction.
• Notify physicians/families of health changes with documentation.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain safety; communicate with staff.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for medication administration for the residents in compliance with Federal & State regulations
• Assist with admissions of new residents, including assessments and documentation
• Assist with the process of implementing acute and long-term care plans or service plans an/or the collection of data
• Responsible for clinical system tracking (i.e., wounds or infection control) under the director's direction
• Provide general consultation regarding health-related concerns within the community
• Notify physicians and/or family members of any change in the resident’s health and provide proper documentation
• Respond quickly to all emergencies
• Maintain close communication with all departments and staff members
• Provide educational meetings for residents and staff
• Understand the role of the Safety & Disaster Plan
• Maintain confidentiality of residents’ and prospective residents’ information
• Attend all required training, in-service, and staff meetings
• Maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

License/Certification:

• Current state license as an LPN and CPR certification
• Graduate of an approved LPN program (per state requirements)
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience working as a nurse preferred
• Previous experience working with the elderly in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable

Job Type: Full-time, Part Time, Per diem

Salary: $33.00 - $35.00 per hour
