LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - Pediatrics

Salary: $32.00 - $41.00 per hour

Position Overview

The LPN assists in maintaining the health and well-being of assigned individuals by providing direct nursing care under the supervision of physicians, RNs, the Director of Nursing, and Medical Director. They monitor non-licensed staff and help adjust treatment plans to meet each child's physical, psychological, and developmental needs, following organizational policies and healthcare standards.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in care planning and delivery for all assigned individuals, ensuring quality and safety.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered, following the five rights of medication administration.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Perform and document admission evaluations and re-evaluations of care needs.
  • Complete care plans, nursing notes, medication records, and other documentation accurately.
  • Assess individual needs for care planning and provide education accordingly.
  • Follow safety protocols and standards of practice to ensure safety for staff, children, and visitors.
  • Report changes in condition or concerns to supervisors and coordinate with healthcare team members.
  • Participate in shift handovers, orientation, training, and continuing education.
  • Model professionalism and uphold confidentiality, respect, and integrity in all interactions.
  • Engage in quality improvement and safety initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Current state license as an LPN in good standing
  • Valid BLS/CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Preferred experience in pediatrics
  • Meet Child Care Supervisor qualifications as per 55 Pa. Code Chapter 3800
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate level
