Job summary

Quality Correctional Health Care is seeking an LPN for a part-time weekend role in Lewis County. The nurse provides patient care within a correctional setting under physician direction and adheres to nursing practice standards and policies.

Responsibilities include patient intake, medication orders, sick calls, treatment documentation, and collaboration with providers. CPR certification and an active LPN license are required; one year of correctional health experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of clinical experience as an LPN.
• One year of experience in a correctional health care setting is preferred.
• Current and valid LPN or LVN license.

Responsibilities

• Respond and intervene in all emergency situations.
• Conduct Patient Intake paperwork.
• Verify and obtain orders for patient medication.
• Conduct Sick Call clinic.
• Order and maintain supply of patient medication from pharmacy.
• Administer medications following nursing standards and correctional regulations.
• Document all patient information, nursing care and interventions within prescribed timeframes.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.

Description

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Site Administrator/Coordinator the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing services to patients within a correctional environment. The LPN delivers nursing care as directed by the Physician within the scope of the State Board of Nursing Practice for the LPN.

Pay Rate: $23-$25/hr

• Respond and intervene in all emergency situations
• Conduct Patient Intake paperwork
• Verify and obtain orders for patient medication
• Conduct Sick Call clinic
• Order / maintain supply of patient medication from pharmacy
• Administer medications following nursing standards and correctional regulations
• Complete and document ordered treatments, patient care, and collection ordered labs
• Assist provider with Chronic Care Clinic and Provider sick call visit
• Monitor for, report and document changes in patient's condition
• Accurately document all patient information, nursing care and interventions
• Ensure daily nursing task are completed within prescribed timeframe.
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Assist with training and orientation of new personnel
• Follow QCHC policies, procedures & guidelines
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Successful completion of an Accredited Vocational/Technical School
• Current and valid LPN or LVN license
• Current CPR
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a health care setting as an LPN.
• One year of experience in a correctional health care setting is preferred.
