Job summary

Quality Correctional Health Care is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse to support weekend shifts in Wayne County. The LPN will provide nursing care in a correctional setting under physician direction and ensure accurate documentation and patient confidentiality.

Pay rate is $24/hour. Qualifications include an LPN/LVN license, current CPR, and at least one year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in corrections. Applications are being accepted now.

Qualifications

• Current and valid LPN or LVN license.
• Current CPR.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a health care setting as an LPN.
• One year of experience in a correctional health care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond and intervene to all emergency situations
• Conduct patient intake paperwork
• Verify and obtain orders for patient medication
• Conduct Sick Call clinic
• Order / maintain supply of patient medication from pharmacy
• Administer medications following nursing standards and correctional regulations
• Complete and document ordered treatments, patient care, and collection ordered labs
• Assist provider with Chronic Care Clinic and Provider sick call visit
• Monitor for, report and document changes in patient's condition
• Accurately document all patient information, nursing care and interventions
• Ensure daily nursing tasks are completed within prescribed timeframe
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Assist with training and orientation of new personnel
• Follow QCHC policies, procedures & guidelines
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Site Administrator/Coordinator the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing services to patients within a correctional environment. The LPN delivers nursing care as directed by the Physician within the scope of the State Board of Nursing Practice for the LPN.

Pay Rate: $24/hr

Requirements:
