Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a licensed practical nurse to join our home health team in Michigan. This full-time, days position offers competitive hourly pay and the chance to help patients heal where they feel most comfortable—at home.

You will verify plans of care with the RN, monitor vital signs, manage medications, and educate patients and caregivers. A valid LPN license, CPR certification, and a valid driver's license with reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical LPN experience.
• Current LPN license in the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Verify plan of care with the RN prior to each visit.
• Collaborate with physician and RN to meet patient needs; notify changes promptly.
• Teach patients and caregivers self-care techniques.
• Check vital signs.
• Review medications and perform medication reconciliation at visits.
• Perform specialized procedures ordered by physician (e.g. foley catheter changes).
• Prepare equipment and materials for treatments using aseptic technique.
• Complete documentation timely and accurately.
