Job summary

Journey is seeking an experienced registered nurse to guide daily nursing operations on a 7p-7a shift in our Kentucky facility.

You will supervise licensed practical/vocational nurses and CNAs, ensure compliance with regulations, and participate in admissions, discharges, and transfers while promoting holistic resident care.

Requirements include a nursing degree, an active RN license in the state, and CPR certification; LTC experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• A Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unrestricted license as an RN in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of the licensed practical/vocational nurse and certified nursing assistants.
• Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for residents.
• Ensures policies and procedures are followed by nursing personnel.
• Participates in admissions, discharges and transfers of residents.
• Assesses changes in residents’ status and notifies physician and family, documenting accordingly.
• Transcribes physician orders to medical records and carries out orders as written.

• Follows the nursing model to promote holistic care for the residents.
• Ensures that policies and procedures are complied with by nursing personnel assigned.
• Participates in the admission, discharge and transfers of residents as required.
• Assesses for changes in residents’ status, notifying the physician and resident’s family or representative and documenting accordingly.
• Transcribes physician orders to medical record and carries out orders as written.

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
• A Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.
