Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in New York is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to deliver compassionate, science-driven care under RN/physician supervision. You will administer medications, monitor vitals, document care, and assist with discharge planning in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements include an active NY LPN license, BLS, infection control certification, and a High School diploma. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday role with alternating Saturdays, on-site at Montefiore Medical Center.

Qualifications

• LPN license required to practice as a licensed nurse.
• HS diploma or GED required for entry.
• BLS certification and infection control certification required.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care: administer medications, monitor vitals, wound care, triage/room patients within 15 minutes, perform treatments.
• Documentation: record patient data, vitals, interventions, medication administration with accuracy.
• Coordination: clean and stock exam rooms, maintain supplies, sterilize equipment.
• Communication: collaborate with care team, educate patients and families about care management.
• Provide direct care and discharge instructions for selected patient population.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care: Provide hands-on care under RN/physician supervision, including administering medications, monitoring vitals, wound care, triaging/rooming patients within 15 minutes, and performing treatments.
• Documentation & Specimens: Accurately document patient info, vitals, interventions, and medication administration with 100% compliance. Collect, label, and log specimens (blood, biopsy) with zero tolerance for error.
• Coordination & Maintenance: Clean and stock exam rooms between sessions, maintain supply par levels, and sterilize equipment via autoclave.
• Communication & Education: Partner with the healthcare team to elevate issues, facilitate discharge, and teach patients/families regarding care management.
• Provides direct care for a specific patient population. Administers medications and treatments. Provides patient & family teaching and discharge instructions.

Requirements

• NY LPN License & Registration.
• BLS Card and Infection Control Certification.
• High School/GED minimum.

Shift: Monday to Friday 1000A – 0630P with Alternating Saturdays.

Part-time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce the operational efficiency of that department. Probationary period is three (3) months for full-time employees, and four (4) months for part-time employees who works more than 3/5 of the normal workweek.
