Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will perform nursing duties, support ice duties, and assist the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include administering IV therapies where appropriate, using the nursing process for planning and evaluation, and maintaining accurate documentation in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current LPN license in state of practice.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association required.
• IV therapy credentials preferred.
• Strong time management, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to assigned patients following nursing process.
• Performs IV therapy and administers medications as delegated by RN.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families and the health team to ensure quality care.
• Maintains patient safety, accuracy of documentation and infection control standards.
• Demonstrates professional responsibilities and adheres to applicable laws and hospital policies.
