Job summary

Promises / The Ranch TN in Dickson, TN seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to deliver essential medical care under the Medical Director’s supervision. You will help plan, deliver, and evaluate client care within our addiction treatment setting.

The nurse collaborates with physicians, completes assessments, administers medications, and educates clients on health options. The role requires 3+ years of nursing and an active LPN license, with 24-hour availability for emergencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience.
• Valid Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by state of employment.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent customer care skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• At least 2 years' experience in substance abuse/recovery program preferred.
• CPR/First Aid Certification is required; if not certified, must obtain within state-mandated time frame.

Responsibilities

• Meets with new clients and assists in completing the medical and health assessment/questionnaire.
• Coordinates with attending physicians to ensure admission orders are addressed and appropriate ancillary assessments and services are provided.
• Completes client treatment plan documentation including nursing assessments, transcription of MD and NP phone orders, medication administration, client progress, and related issues.
• Directs patient care and reports changes in mental/physical condition, emergencies, and safety risks.
• Provides ongoing patient education on detox, recovery, medications and health issues.
• Reconciles QA client medication sheets and oversees proper medication destruction.
• Reconciles pharmacy orders daily.
• Assists with development and implementation of QA program and trains staff for infection control and nursing services.
• Attends treatment planning conferences and professional staff meetings.
• Available for 24 hour coverage for consultation and emergencies.
