Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is seeking a licensed Practical Nurse to provide skilled home health care in the Columbus, OH area. Starting pay is $25.50 per hour with a $2,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants, prorated based on full-time equivalency.

The role supports pediatric patients, including medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and daily living activities assistance. The position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities with a flexible schedule across Columbus

Qualifications

  • Graduate of approved practical or vocational nursing program.
  • Licensed as a Practical Nurse in Ohio.
  • CPR certification.
  • Experience in pediatric or home health preferred.
  • Flexible schedule and ability to handle home visits.

Essential Functions
  • Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians or advanced practice providers.
  • Monitors patients' vital signs and records their medical histories.
  • Assists with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provides emotional support and education to patients and their families.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
Education Requirement

Graduate of an approved school of practical or vocational nursing, required.

Licensure Requirement

Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the State of Ohio, required.

Certifications

CPR certification, required.

Skills

Working knowledge of the concept of family centered care. Ability to function collaboratively within the framework of an Interdisciplinary Team. Problem solving, organization, communication skills and ability to work independently and react appropriately to crisis situations.

Experience
  • One year of experience in a pediatric care setting, preferred.
  • One year of home health experience, preferred.
