Job summary

Journey is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to lead the care team and ensure high-quality outcomes for residents. This role emphasizes compassionate leadership, regulatory compliance, and collaborative care with the nursing staff and other team members.

You will direct licensed practical nurses and CNAs, participate in admissions and discharges, assess resident status, and ensure accurate documentation and physician communication. A strong commitment to resident well-being is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care preferred but not required.
• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current unrestricted RN license in practicing state.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Directs the daily activities of the licensed practical/vocational nurse and CNAs according to current regulations and facility policies.
• Promotes holistic care using the nursing model for residents.
• Ensures compliance with policies and procedures by nursing staff.
• Participates in admissions, discharge and transfers of residents as required.
• Assesses status changes, notifies physician and family, and documents accordingly.
• Transcribes physician orders to medical records and carries out orders as written.
