Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Primary Care Nurse to work with Mercy Primary Care Providers to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care at Mercy Hospital Stoddard in Dexter, MO. This full-time role supports a 40-hour work week on days, with opportunity to collaborate across the clinical care team and contribute to quality outcomes for an attributed panel.

Preferred certifications include ACLS, PALS, PEARS, STABLE; IV certification is desirable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
• Must obtain and maintain a current LPN license in the hiring state and meet State Board requirements.
• BLS certification required or completed within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care in a systematic manner.
• Partner with patients, providers and the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for an attributed panel.
• Work under the direction of Mercy Primary Care Operations team to support Primary Care Providers.

Job description

Under the direction of the primary care operations team, the Primary Care Nurse works directly with Mercy Primary Care Providers to provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care in a systematic way. The Primary Care Nurse will partner with patients, providers, and other members of the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for an attributed panel.

Position Details:

Location Mercy Hospital Stoddard - Primary Care Clinics 1200 North 1 Mile Rd Dexter, MO 63841

Hours/Schedule Full-Time (40-hrs per week), Days

Minimum Qualifications:

Licensure: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure. Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.

Certifications:

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ACLS/ALS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support)
• Six Assessment & Care Modules
• IV Certification within 1 year of hire.
• Other unit-specific certifications as required.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest. Many of these would join together in 1986 as Mercy.
