Job summary

Homestead Health Care is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join our community in Livonia, MI. You will provide direct nursing care to residents, administer medications, and oversee care staff to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold a current Michigan LPN license, with experience in senior living or long-term care, and strong communication skills to engage residents, families, and the care team.

Qualifications

• Current and valid LPN license in Michigan.
• Experience in senior living or long-term care, preferably in a management role.
• Knowledge of nursing home regulations and the Nurse Practice Act.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families.
• Ability to lead and supervise care staff and coordinate care.

Job description

Homestead Health Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse for one of our Community in Livonia.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Communication with pharmacies.
• Monitor and assess residents' health status, noting any changes and reporting them promptly, maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records.
• Leading our resident assistants and med techs to ensure superior care (patient assessments, audits, and staff training).
• Supervise and support Caregivers in delivering care.
• Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
  

Requirements/Qualifications

• Current and valid LPN license in Michigan.
• Proven experience of successful nursing role in a senior living or long-term care environment; most of which should be in a management role.
• Working knowledge of nursing home regulations and the Nurse Practice Act.
• Must have the ability to relate positively to residents, their families, employees, and the community at large with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and excellent organizational and time-management skills.
