Maine Veterans’ Homes in Scarborough, ME is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for multiple shifts across memory care and skilled nursing. Evening and night schedules available with differential pay.

Qualifications

• Active and in-good-standing LPN license in Maine.
• Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with residents, families, and supervisors.
• Ability to exercise clinical judgment, discretion, and maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care including medication administration and clinical interventions.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Supervise and support CNAs in delivering daily care and ensuring quality standards are met.
• Observe, document, and report changes in residents’ condition to appropriate team members.
• Promote residents’ independence, preferences, and dignity while maintaining safety.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, team members, residents, and families.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and confidentiality protocols.
• Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions.

We have Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) openings available across our nursing programs, with a variety of shifts and schedules to fit your experience and availability:

• Memory Care – Evening Shift: 36/24 schedule (12-hour shifts)


• Skilled Nursing – Evening Shift: 24/24 schedule (8-hour shifts)


• Skilled Nursing – Night Shift: 36/36 schedule (12-hour shifts)

Shift & Weekend Differentials:

• 2nd Shift: +$4.00/hour


• 3rd Shift: +$5.00/hour


• Weekend: +$2.50/hour in addition to applicable shift differential

Position Summary for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN)

The LPN is a valued member of the nursing team responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to residents in accordance with each resident’s individualized care plan. This role supports residents in a designated care setting while promoting dignity, comfort, and safety. LPNs also provide clinical oversight, coordination of care, and guidance to nursing assistants as appropriate.
