Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the G81 unit at the Main Campus. You will care for patients in a hybrid unit that combines ENT/Plastics step-down and general medicine, with day/night shifts from 7:00 to 19:30 or 19:30 to 7:30.

The role involves data collection, implementing care plans, medication administration, and patient education for diverse conditions, including post-surgical and medical patients. Ohio LPN licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program
• Current Ohio license as an LPN
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross
• One year of patient care experience preferred

The G81 unit on Cleveland Clinic Main Campus presents a unique opportunity to caregivers, as the unit is both a specialty surgical step-down unit and a general medical unit. G81 encompasses an 8-bed ENT/Plastics specialty step-down unit and a 24-bed unit with a specialty focus in Internal Medicine. The patients we see present a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions, such as head and neck cancer, surgical flaps and grafts, renal failure, diabetes, hypertension, pneumonia and sepsis. Many of our patients have complex multi-system failure issues.

A caregiver in this position works day/night rotation, from 7:00am—7:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Collect, document and report patient data and observations.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program
• Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• One year of patient care experience

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.
• Involves extensive standing and walking.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $23.25

Maximum hourly: $33.50
