Job summary

Acadia Healthcare’s Shelby Comprehensive Treatment Center in Shelby, NC seeks an LPN Dispensing Nurse to support MAT operations on a full-time morning schedule (5:00 AM–1:15 PM, with rotating Saturdays 5:00 AM–7:00 AM). The LPN dispenses medications under Medical Director direction, ensuring accurate reporting and patient progress documentation.

The role emphasizes safe medication handling, compliance with DEA/HIPAA, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery from opioid

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Prefer 1 year of nursing experience in behavioral health or addiction recovery.
• No history of alcohol or other drug misuse for a period of three years before employment.

Responsibilities

• Works under supervision of Medical Director and Clinic Director.
• Maintains nursing standards of care.
• Prepares and administers medications as ordered.
• Maintains accurate accounting of medication received and dispensed.
• Charts medication administration in nurses' notes.
• Documents nursing care and patient progress accurately.
• Safekeeping of all medication stock and related records (DEA, FDA, ADP).
• Dedicates 90% of scheduled hours to medication administration; 10% for other duties.
