Job summary

Orlando Health Medical Group is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide and document individualized patient care including evaluation, education, medication administration, IV therapy and safety as directed by the RN or provider.

This role includes coordination of diagnostics (MRI/CT, etc.) and collaboration with anesthesia teams within the perioperative setting to ensure timely, safe patient care.

Qualifications

• Nursing School Graduate with active Florida license.
• Successful completion of a 30-hour IV therapy course within 30 days of hire.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in advanced practical nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit specific requisite skills.
• Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient’s condition to the RN and other members of the healthcare team.
• Assists RN or provider during examinations and procedures.
• Documents patient data, and patient education according to Orlando Health and department specific guidelines.
• Able to perform triage functions, including assessing the patient and determining next step in care, working in collaboration as directed by the department nursing team or provider(s).
• Appropriately administer oral and injectable medications or immunizations per LPN scope and as directed by a provider.
