Job summary

Orlando Health Physician Associates in Central Florida seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide and document individualized patient care, including evaluation, education, medication administration, IV therapy, treatments and patient safety as directed by a RN or provider. The position is at 550 East State Road 434, Longwood, FL 32750, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm.

Qualifications

• Nursing School Graduate.
• Successful completion of a 30-hour IV therapy course within 30 days of hire for inpatient/SNF only.
• Current nursing license in the State of Florida.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in advanced practical nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment.
• Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient’s condition to the RN and other members of the healthcare team.
• Assists RN or provider during examinations and procedures.
• Documents patient data, and patient education according to Orlando Health and department specific guidelines.
• Able to perform triage functions, including assessing the patient and determining next step in care, working in collaboration as directed by the department nursing team or provider(s).
• Appropriately administer oral and injectable medications or immunizations per LPN scope and as directed by a provider.
• Maintains a safe and caring environment for both patient and family.
• Assumes an active role in keeping informed about changes in hospital policy, procedure, and equipment.
• Participates in nursing PI activities as assigned.
• Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on the assigned unit.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Education

Nursing School Graduate

Successful IV therapy course within 30 days

Current Florida nursing license
