Job summary

IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis is seeking an LPN to join our patient care team. You will provide nursing care, room patients, take vitals, and collaborate with the healthcare team to support positive patient outcomes.

The role is full-time, day shift, with no weekends or holidays. Requires graduation from an accredited LPN program and an active Indiana license plus BLS; orientation is provided and prior authorizations may be involved.

Qualifications

• Requires graduation from a nationally accredited LPN program.
• Active LPN license in Indiana or NLC license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA required.
• Successful completion of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients.
• Taking vitals.
• Managing prior authorizations.
• Assisting with biopsies/pathology/in clinic procedures.

Description:

Knows and uses the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to individual patients. Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team. Evaluates response to interventions and patient status toward goal achievement. Accepts delegated nursing measures for which he or she knows he or she is prepared, qualified and licensed to perform.

• Requires graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursing program.
• Requires an active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) LPN license.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Successful completion of orientation required.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
