Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide patient care under the supervision of the RN and care team. You will gather patient data, participate in planning, and help implement the patient care plan within established policies.

Strong communication, teamwork, and EMR skills are essential. Daytime hours with potential flexibility are required in a dynamic clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of practical nursing or passed LPN Boards after a defined period in a professional nursing program.
• If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of LPN experience in an applicable setting is required.
• One year LPN experience within the last five years preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Ability to work daytime hours, flexibility may be required to meet staffing needs.
• Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing preferred.
• Current LPN license by applicable state requirements.
• Arizona: Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers.
• Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
• Positions that are not on campus may not require current Basic Life Support (BLS) competency as determined by the work area.

Responsibilities

• The LPN provides nursing care to assigned patients under the supervision of the RN or supervisor and accepts delegation from the RN/supervisor and provider.
• The LPN collects data through observation and communicates information to assist in patient assessment and care planning.
• The LPN participates as a member of the health care team and delivers care in accordance with the patient care plan and organizational policies.
• The LPN maintains effective communication and may mentor or instruct others; may participate in quality improvement projects.
