Job summary

Armor Health in Columbus, OH, seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a Day 3x12s shift (7am–7pm) at Franklin County Jail. This full-time role includes every-other-weekend work and offers the chance to provide holistic nursing care in a correctional setting.

You will support providers, perform exams and procedures, collect histories, draw labs, and document care in the EMR. Must hold an active LPN license, CPR, and pass a Level 2 background check; EMR proficiency is required.

Qualifications

Current/Active state license as an LPN.
Current CPR certificate.
Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR).
Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance including background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
Assist health care providers, RNs, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, tests, and routine procedures.
Obtain patient health history, collect laboratory specimens, measure vital signs, and administer TB tests.
Conduct lab tests and ensure results reach the physician or RN promptly.
Ensure patients receive proper care for injuries or conditions.
Review patient charts and report observed symptoms, reactions, or changes in condition.
Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or external providers; administer medications; document contacts in the EHR using standard formats.
