Job summary

Quality Correctional Care seeks a licensed practical nurse to join our medical team at Bartholomew County Jail in Columbus, Indiana. Shift: 7 AM–7 PM, 3 days per week with every other weekend rotation, on-site care for inmates.

You will administer medications, perform intakes, respond to sick calls, and support chronic care management in a demanding, mission-driven environment. Requirements include valid LPN licensure and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Valid LPN licensure.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients.
• Administer medications.
• Perform medical intakes and assess if patient is fit for incarceration.
• Respond to sick call requests and follow up with the medical provider.
• Check and/or change medical dressings as required by the medical provider.
• Performing 14-day physicals.
• Managing chronic care.
• Providing patient education on health concerns.
• Responding to medical emergencies and lifesaving actions as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of pharmacology including drug interactions and costs.
• Provide direction to Medically Trained Personnel as needed.
• Comply with all current and future state, federal, and local laws and regulations.
