Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Deming, NM. Local pay is $51.00/hour with travel pay of $25.10/hour. The role offers a correctional healthcare setting, flexible local contract or per diem options, and a chance to deliver high-quality patient care.

The LPN will supervise under a RN or physician, administer medications, monitor vitals, document in EMR, and support admissions and discharges while maintaining safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Active LPN license in applicable state or reciprocity.
• 1+ years’ full-time LPN experience in a correctional setting.
• BLS through American Heart Association or equivalent.
• Proficiency in English for staff and patient communication.
• Experience in ER, Psychiatric, MS or Clinic settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a RN or physician.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and record vital signs; report changes promptly.
• Assist with patient assessments and implement care plans.
• Perform wound care and basic nursing procedures.
• Document care accurately in the EMR.
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and treatment plans.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Maintain a safe, clean, therapeutic environment.
• Follow facility policies, infection control protocols, and regulatory standards.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

• Monitor and record patients' vital signs and report changes in condition.

• Assist with patient assessments and implement individualized care plans.

• Perform wound care, specimen collection, and other basic nursing procedures.

• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).

• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and treatment plans.

• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients.

• Follow facility policies, infection control protocols, and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited educational institution

• A degree from an accredited school of Nursing

• An active, current LPN license in applicable state or reciprocation

• 1+ years’ full-time LPN experience in a correctional setting

• BLS through American Heart Association or equivalent

• Experience in ER, Psychiatric, MS or Clinic

• Proficiency in the English language is necessary for communication with other staff and patients.
