Job summary

Quality Correctional Health Care is seeking an LPN for PRN Day & Weekend shifts in Marion County. The LPN provides nursing care under physician direction within a correctional setting, handling intake, medication orders, Sick Calls, and chronic care support.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited vocational/technical nursing credential, an active LPN/LVN license, and CPR certification, with at least one year of clinical experience; correctional health care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an Accredited Vocational/Technical School.
• Current and valid LPN or LVN license.
• Current CPR.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a health care setting as an LPN; correctional health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond and intervene to emergencies.
• Conduct patient intake paperwork.
• Verify and obtain orders for patient medication.
• Conduct Sick Call clinic.
• Order and maintain supply of patient medications.
• Administer medications per nursing standards and correctional regulations.
• Document treatments, care and labs.
• Assist with Chronic Care Clinic visits and sick calls.
• Monitor and document changes in patient condition.
• Document all patient information and care.
• Complete daily nursing tasks within prescribed timeframes.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Assist with training and orientation of new personnel.
• Follow QCHC policies, procedures & guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
