Job summary

Tidewell Hospice in Venice, FL is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to provide bedside observation and supportive care under RN supervision.

Under physician orders, you will work with the RN case manager to maximize patient comfort and dignity, assisting families during times of crisis.

Applicants should have graduated from an approved nursing program and hold a Florida LPN license, with at least one year of acute care experience; hospice LPN experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program.
• Current Florida LPN license.
• Minimum one year of acute care experience; hospice LPN experience preferred.

Under physician’s orders and RN supervision, the Continuous Care (CC) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the observation of patient/family needs and providing supportive care and emotional support to the patient/family unit in times of crisis in order to maximize patient comfort and enhance quality of life.
Primary tasks, duties, and responsibilities:
1. Under the direction of the RN case manager, provides continuous bed-side clinical observations, prescribed care, physical, and emotional support to patients as directed in plan of care, reporting significant changes in patient condition and family needs as needed.
2. In collaboration with the RN, accepts and processes physician orders to maximize patient comfort.

Requirements:

• Applicants must be a graduate of an approved nursing program and own a current Florida LPN license.
• Minimum one year experience in an acute care setting, providing direct patient care; previous experience as a hospice LPN preferred.
