Job summary

The Good Shepherd Health & Rehabilitation Center in Ashland, OH is seeking a qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our caregiving team. You will supervise CNAs, deliver individualized nursing care per each resident’s plan, and assist in admissions, transfers and discharges.

You’ll administer prescribed medications and explain procedures to residents, providing compassionate, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered LPN license in Ohio.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and direct the work of CNAs.
• Provide individualized nursing care per resident’s plan of care.
• Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
• Explain procedures and treatments ordered to gain patients’ cooperation.
• Observe vital signs to detect deviations from normal and gauge progress.
• Maintain patient medical records on nursing observations and actions.
• Record nursing needs on care plans for continuity of care.
• Observe emotional stability and prepare residents for continuing care after discharge.
• Perform other duties as required to provide exceptional care to each resident.
