Job summary

Qualifications

• Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• Must obtain licensure as an LPN within one year if currently licensed elsewhere.
• Provide proof of PA temporary practice permit or PA LPN license at appointment.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA may be required.
• Ability to perform essential job functions in a correctional setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to inmates with diverse medical and behavioral needs.
• Carry out nursing care plans, take vital signs, administer medications, and treatments.
• Observe inmate behavior and report needs to clinical staff.
• Provide first aid, CPR, or AED during emergencies.
• Update electronic health records and prepare transfer/release reports.
• Sterilize equipment and maintain adequate stock of medical supplies.
• Attend required trainings to maintain clinical competencies.
